Frequently asked questions
Setup and configuration
How do I give events a duration?
Each event that is not a timeline can have a duration. To do this, ensure you have the start date enabled. Then, click the blue settings icon at the top right of an event. This opens the event series configuration dialog.
For more information, see How to use → Event duration.
Subscriptions and pricing plans
Are your subscriptions seat-based or flat-rate?
Our subscriptions have a simple flat rate.
You can choose one of our plans by going to monday.com → Administration → Apps → See plans. If you’re not an administrator, you can inspect our plans in the public marketplace: Calendar Plus (opens in a new tab).
Calendar sharing
Is the shared calendar interactive?
Yes, the shared calendar is interactive. You can change from week view to month view, navigate to another month, and hover over events to see more information, just like you would in monday. The shared calendar is a read-only copy, and does not allow visitors to make any changes.
What data is available in the shared calendar? Does it load information from other columns?
The calendar only loads relevant information from your items. The item name, start and end date, and any information at a glance you have selected. It does not load information from other, irrelevant columns.
The calendar also loads your calendar settings (which columns to display, which column to color by, etc.), your monday account name, and the board ID and board view ID of the shared calendar.
My board view filters are not working!
Calendar Plus does not support board view filters in the shared calendar. All items are displayed in the shared calendar.
My shared calendar doesn’t update!
Any changes you make to your calendar may take up to 5 minutes to update on the shared calendar. If after 15 minutes you’re still having trouble, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
If you’re using the internet calendar feed, the update frequency depends on your calendar provider. While we request the provider update the feed every 5 minutes, some providers may not even update every day. Please refer to our update frequency table for more detailed estimates.
Can the shared calendar be made to open to month view instead of week view?
Yes. At the moment, this involves a manual change to the share link or embed code.
Please append ?view=month
to the end of the link (https://automagical.work/public/your-share-id?view=month
or <iframe src="https://automagical.work/public/your-share-id?view=month">
).
Can shared calendar access be protected with eg. a password?
At the moment, this is not possible. Please let us know what you’d like to see by contacting us at [email protected].
It says my shared calendar is not available. What do I do?
This is likely because you or a coworker has paused or stopped sharing of the calendar. Please review the sharing status in the calendar settings in monday.
It says access to my shared calendar is restricted. What do I do?
This is likely because your Ultimate subscription has expired. To reinstate access to your shared calendar, renew your subscription in monday app administration, or contact a monday administrator in your organization.
How is my access token kept secure?
Your access token is encrypted using AES-CBC-256 encryption before it is stored in our database. The access token is only used to request data from monday to display the shared calendar, and is not shared with the browser.
